Deep Tissue Massage

This is an affordable and effective remedy for relieving deep chronic pain. Because Deep Tissue increases the flow of blood through the body, it helps reduce the inflammation that causes the pain. It is also used to alleviate muscle tension; often a side effect of chronic pain by loosening tight muscle clusters.

Overtime, deep tissue can help break up and eventually erase scar tissue. It does so by improving lymphatic circulation and drainage improving flexibility and range of motion in the affected area.

It can also be an effective treatment for injured muscles as it facilitates the movement of toxins from the muscles and helps stretch tight or twisted muscle mass. Deep Tissue is frequently used to rehabilitate sports injury.

A study in the journal for Alternative and Complimentary Medicine found that blood pressure fell after a single 45 – 60 minute-deep-tissue massage.

Your deep tissue massage should not hurt. Speak to your therapist about pressure.

When you come for your massage, wear loose, comfortable sports shorts. You will be completely covered apart from the area being massaged. Deep Tissue massage should NOT hurt. Your therapist will discuss pressure with you during your consultation. If at any point the massage becomes painful you must say. If you are being treated for an injury it may be beneficial speaking to your doctor first to see if the treatment is suitable for you.
